Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
Cash assistance is also known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The amount of cash benefit provided depends upon the family’s income and the county where the family lives.
The Successful Families Program has services for low income families. These include the following:
Cash assistance, also known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Helps adults with their problems in getting a job
- Provides support services for work, training, work activities, and education
- The home where the family lives
- Assets less than $2,000
- Furniture, personal items, and some tools
- $90 plus 60% of earnings
Information and assistance will be provided by One-Stop and Workforce Development Center staff regarding available employment programs, training opportunities and services, eligibility requirements, and veteran's priority. The KANSASWORKS registration process has been developed to determine veterans' eligibility, and an American Flag identifies veterans' resumes listed on KANSASWORKS for employers. Veterans are encouraged to avail themselves of these opportunities.
